    An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dermatology Department for a full-time Clinic Coordinator to join our team. This post will be based at Waters Green Medical Practice, Macclesfield.

    You will be part of a well-established team in a very busy department, your role is to manage and monitor clinics and waiting lists and support the managerial team and secretaries with clinic related queries. You will work as part of a team

    Main duties of the job

    An example of duties will be:

  • Reviewing clinic slot utilisation.
  • Managing clinic templates.
  • Managing 2 week wait patient referrals
  • Monitoring ASI's & management of escalations.
  • Answer appointment enquiries.
  • Making New and FU appointments.
  • Managing clinics and waiting lists
  • Data input
  • The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent accuracy, organisational and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Be a team player. Able to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines. A high level of concentration is required and attention to detail. Meticulous accuracy is essential in order to maintain service levels.

    Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1 and became a Foundation Trust in April 8.

    Detailed job description and main responsibilities

    The post holder will provide a comprehensive, quality and confidential administration service to the Divisions and their team in support of the wider managerial team.

    A key requirement of the post is to proactively manage clinic bookings and appointments, including making recommendations and implementing any authorised changes to clinic templates to ensure best use of capacity and compliance with national targets.

    The Clinic/Data Coordinator will be expected to organise their workload and co-ordinate their activities in conjunction with, and supervised by, the Service Manager to ensure that an efficient service is provided. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role, and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.
    SERVICE DELIVERY
    1. Provide a comprehensive administration service, including management of new referrals and demographics, registration of patients, analysis and housekeeping of appointment systems to maximise capacity, liasing with Divisions, etc. ensuring that all information and documentation is
    produced to expected standards of performance, and according to agreed timescales.
    2. Maintain constructive relationships with others, within and across Divisions and externally in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services to patients.
    3. Support the Division to analyse, and act on information to proactively manage and maintain relevant NHS targets, including profiling activity to ensure target requirements are met.

    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

    Essential criteria

  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office
  • Awareness of the need for confidentiality in accordance with Data Protection Act and national/local guidelines
  • Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Advanced ECDL modules or equivalent
