    Description

    Central Employment is proud to work with an esteemed charity that empowers asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants in the North East. With a rich history spanning over 18 years, our client supports over 2,000 individuals annually.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assume a leadership role in financial operations, encompassing strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    • Ensure adherence to charity account regulations and maintain robust financial controls.
    • Provide valuable insights to senior management, guiding financial decision-making processes.
    • Oversee day-to-day finance functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
    • Offer mentorship and performance management to the Finance Officer.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
    • Drive efficiency and foster continuous improvement within the finance team.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a similar-sized organization.
    • Familiarity with charity account regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Strong proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    • They have demonstrated leadership skills, including experience in team management and development.
    • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Hours and Location:

    • 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE/3 days)
    • Hybrid Working: 1 day at home, 2 days in the office
    • Flexible working arrangements

    Contract and Benefits:

    • Permanent contract, subject to a 3-month probation period
    • Competitive salary plus pension contribution
    • Annual Leave: 28 days + English Bank Holidays, pro rata
