Job Description:


JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible for the on-time delivery of parts and the collection of waste from sites across the UK. To ensure correct waste storage and segregation during transit and prior to collection by licenced waste contractors.

Qualifications & Managerial Experience

  • Prior experience working within the Railway industry (Desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equiverlant)
  • Understanding of the Environmental Protection Act, The Waste (England & Wales) Regulations and other associated UK waste regulations.
  • Understanding of logistics (transportation, receive & dispatch)
  • PTS trained (Desirable)

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Ensure that safe driving regulations/standards are adhered to.
  • Delivery of parts to customers/business partners as required.
  • Collection of waste materials and parts as required.
  • Undertake frequent and occasionally short notice working away from home as required.
  • To support the WDC and EHS Manager in the correct completion and retention of waste transfer / waste consignment notes, both internal and external.
  • Ensure the correct storage and segregation of hazardous waste to regulatory requirements
  • Liaison with authorised & licenced waste contractors in the collection and transfer of hazardous and nonhazardous waste.
  • The implementation of emergency response plans for waste storage and the testing of such plans.
  • Assisting with achieving & maintaining the operation to a 5S regime
  • To ensure appropriate record keeping to monitor compliance and meet regulatory requirements
  • To work with the EHS Manager EMEA and undertake job safety analysis to identify risks in the workplace and propose/deliver initiatives to eliminate or control these risks
  • Conduct and record safety tours within their area or responsibility
  • Ensure all safety matters raised are addressed promptly and that investigations are completed.
  • To comply with all Health, Safety quality and Environmental policies and procedures
  • To undergo any training as required by company requirements
  • To undertake other duties or travel as discussed with the Supply Chain Manager
