    THE ROLEThe Events Officer is an exciting opportunity for someone who is very hands on and has a genuine passion for organising and planning for events.

    A unique opportunity to deliver quality, professional events which attract visitors to our beautiful district and provides a vibrant place to live for our residents.

    Please note this role is full time, Permanent, 37 hours per week, flexible to suit role/event calendar, including weekends therefore you must be flexible.

    JOB PURPOSETo undertake a key role in the delivery of events across Lichfield District, assisting the Events Manager with all aspects relating to event planning and delivery within Lichfield City Centre, Parks and Open Spaces and the wider district.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the Events Manager with development and delivery of events strategy.

    Act as the key contact for all events which take place in our Parks, in particular Beacon Park ensuring communication with the onsite operational teams.

    Assist with the delivery of Proms in the Park to include attendance at committee meetings, sourcing operational quotes, performer liaison, merchandise, and on-site vendors.

    Maintain the collaborative Visitor Economy Network events calendar.

    Assist with the planning and delivery of internal events including Meet the Leader, civic events and provide support for other ad hoc events.

    Review incoming event management plans, risk assessments and PLI details.
    Maintain the venue database for the district.
    Undertake benchmarking and research activities within the district and with key comparative councils.
    Oversee visitor and business surveys.
    Help to generate revenue through the pro-active sales of sponsorship and advertising.
    Assist with the development of an events volunteer programme.
    Control the nomination and judging process for The Beacon Awards.
    Control the nomination and judging process for The Accolades.
    Undertake supportive administration for events.
    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEDynamic self-driven and energetic person who can adapt to the moving demands of a role in events.
    People skills – client liaison and communication are key.
    Excellent organisational and time management skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbal.
