Financial Controller.

Manchester.

Up to £60,000 + Bonus & Benefits.

Cognisant is working with a well-funded residential-focused property development company who create high-quality homes across the North of England. They are looking to recruit a financial controller to join this exciting, growing business.

You will be a strong statutory accountant with experience within audit and IFRS as well as having the capability to challenge operations and get behind the numbers.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the information requests and answer any questions from the auditors
\t
• Review VAT, CIS and corporation tax returns
\t
• Review and challenge appraisals on new and existing projects
\t
• Work closely with the operations teams, challenging budgets and assumptions
\t
• Monthly management accounts for the listed and associated businesses
\t
• Compile the first draft of the annual report/interim review, including the front end
\t
• Support the Group Finance Director in the drafting of Board and Committee papers
\t
• Support the CEO and Group Finance Director in drafting the Investor Presentation and other external market reports
\t
• Forecasting, budgeting and providing management information
\t
• Support the Directors in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

You will be a qualified accountant with a background in audit who has progressed into a more commercial finance role. You will have strong communication skills with the ability to challenge financial information in a constructive manner.
