Maintenance Apprentice - Ipswich


It is an extremely exciting time here at Cephas Care with the recent implementation of a new senior management team devoted to providing service excellence and supporting our staff.

It is a great opportunity to join our team, the Cephas Care Group are looking for a Maintenance Apprentice, who is looking to learn all aspects of general property maintenance.


Hourly Rate:
£10.42


Hours: 37.5 hours per week


Do you have an interest in general property maintenance? This will involve working as part of a busy and friendly team, covering all aspects of safely working, every day brings a different challenge.

You may be asked to assist with a variety of works from; painting and decorating to plumbing including unblocking toilets/drains, electrical fault-finding carpentry work, jet washing, cleaning filters and general day to day planned preventative maintenance of our properties.

Cephas Alpha Group will provide tools to the person fulfilling this position.

Main Duties:


  • To undertake general maintenance support within the properties associated with Cephas Care Ltd, which may include installing equipment, maintaining mechanical systems, and repairing machines.
  • A maintenance apprentice works alongside fully qualified maintenance technicians to learn the skills of the trade.
  • To assist with the collection, delivery and removal of items as requested by the property administrator.
  • Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and service users.
  • Promote and display the Cephas Care Ltd. Values.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to operations and undertake tasks allocated within the time frame set.
  • To be flexible and willing to work within different locations of Cephas Care Ltd.
  • Operate in a responsible manner and maintain a good standard of work and training records.
  • Attend all mandatory training and assessment periods as and when required by the company.
  • To comply with and follow all company regulations and government legislations.
  • To maintain and service tools and equipment and keep them at a high standard.

Person Specification:


  • Knowledge of basic property maintenance.
  • Ability to lone work with mínimal supervision.
  • Understanding of Data Protection and client confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good personable and approachable.
  • Efficient and selfmotivated.
  • A passion to learn.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of operating vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling.
  • Familiarity in using hand and power tools.
