Nationally, we are investing £5.2 billion between 2021 and 2027 to reduce flood risk to hundreds of thousands more properties.

This will be a key role within the team, to successfully manage and review carbon budgets and dashboards across the Capital Programme.

You will work closely with colleagues across multiple teams to understand the projects that make up the carbon targets, support the development and continuous improvement of carbon dashboards.

This role will review these dashboards to monitor progress against targets and support data quality improvements to facilitate better decision making by governance board.

You will take a detail-orientated approach in reviewing, on a sample basis, the consistency, accuracy and compliance of carbon submitted by projects.

You will work with various carbon-specific roles, drawing on their expertise, to balance the carbon emission tolerances.

Responsible for providing regular, accurate and timely updates on progress. Preparing, delivering reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
Developing and improving data quality across projects through systems.
Delivering training on work areas across Area teams.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The team- Our area Programme team is friendly, enthusiastic, and supportive.

You will work closely with those carrying out a similar role in other Areas and seek to integrate carbon related tasks with existing programme activities.

Our work is fast paced, presenting accurate and consistent figures to a range of customers including Executive Management, Area Leadership, and external audiences.

As the team is dispersed, ability to work independently, prioritise workload and good communication skills are essential.
