Payroll Assistant
Are you seeking a fantastic opportunity within a busy finance office setting?

We are looking to speak with enthusiastic and dynamic Payroll Assistants/Administrators keen to secure their next exciting challenge.


This is a contract role that will initially last until the end of June 2023 with potential extension beyond this, it can also be done on a full time or a part time basis depending on preference.

It will be to support the business as they change payroll providers, so will involve dual payment runs.


Duties:


  • To send off new starter and fixed data to our outsourced payroll bureau, further input variable data and finally check the payroll report for 100% accuracy
  • To process starters and leavers, parental leave, sickness, and benefits
  • To be the point of contact for all payroll issues and queries
  • Review various reports which include pensions, childcare vouchers and sickness.
  • To process and reconcile payrolls end to end in accordance with agreed standards and procedures, including preparation of BACS reports
  • Responsible for preparing and uploading payroll data and checking reports to ensure all information is accurate
  • Responsible for reviewing processes and creating new ones in order to support the transition onto the new system
  • Responsible for running two different monthly payrolls
  • Maintaining payroll related records
  • General Bookkeeping duties including preparation and posting of payroll related journals
  • Ad hoc financial analysis using spreadsheets

Required experience:


  • Experience of working in a busy customer focussed office environment
  • Experience of working with SAGE payroll Dealing with daytoday general payroll queries
  • Experience in processing SSP, Parental Leave (inc. SMP, SPP, SHPL, Parental Bereavement etc )
  • Experience in checking maternity pay schedules and all elements
  • Experience with autoenrolment pension schemes and dealing with assessing of workers' eligibility each month
  • Not necessary experience in a range of employee benefits
