The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a trueIT Systems Integrator. Were expanding our team of DevOpsEngineer. If you have a solid Linux foundation and an enthusiasmfor technology, wed love you to join us. We develop, build, and runa cutting edge Big Data platform for a meaningful and strategicclient. Were heavy on automation, great hardware, a mix ofon-premise and cloud platforms and taking on steep learningcurves.
The teams focus is a shared ownershipand drive to achieve the clients goals. We aim for everyone to beinvolved in software integration, testing, deployment andoperations. We all have direct contact with our client on a dailybasis. The team can ask questions directly to ensure they buildwhat is really needed. If you are interested in Open Source,Kubernetes, rapid prototyping, regular demonstration of completedwork, creating sustainable systems, and thinking ahead but notovercomplicating for today, this will suityou.
Due to the secure access to the systems,this position will require frequent travel to our office inReading.
Yourfuture duties andresponsibilities
You will be part of a team which is jointly responsible fordesigning, integrating, building, testing, maintenance and on-goingoperations of the production platform. Specifically you would beresponsible for,
Review, elaboration andaccurate estimation of new requirements with our ProductOwner
Development of work following strict ways ofworking, standards and levels of quality
Regularpresentation of progress and completed work to the team and thecustomer
Investment in your own skills development withsupport from the team and wider organisation
GNU/Linuxsoftware customisation, configuration and integration
Kubernetes Operators and Hadoop customisation, API integration andconfiguration with Ansible, Kustomize and Helm
Systemperformance analysis and improvement of multiple, high spec largeclusters
Requiredqualifications to be successful in thisrole
Demonstrable experience in at least one of: Linux (e.g. RHEL,CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu)
Demonstrable experience in atleast one of: Python, Java, JavaScript,Ansible
Desirable:
Linux experience asa deployment platform and day to day developmentenvironment
Kubernetes experience
Cloud APIexperience
Deep Linux experience
Webdevelopment and awareness of vulnerabilities and how to defendagainst them
Experience of test driven development andAutomated testing of web applications
Networkingfamiliarity
