    Assistant to Civil/Drainage Engineer Opportunity (Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 per annum)

    They are a well-established multidisciplinary environmental consultancy based in Sheffield, currently seeking an ambitious and driven graduate with approximately two years of experience to join their team as an Assistant to Civil/Drainage Engineer.

    Their consultancy boasts a dedicated team of 70 professionals, with 8 technical experts specializing in flood risk and drainage. They take pride in their diverse portfolio of projects spanning various sectors, including commercial, residential, and renewable energy, with project values ranging from thousands to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

    This role presents an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and growing team, providing crucial support to Project Managers in delivering flood risk and drainage strategies across a range of projects. They offer a hybrid working model, with flexibility to work from home two days a week.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Contribute to the development of surface water/foul drainage strategies and highway design.
    • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and contribute to fee proposal preparations.
    • Engage with water regulators, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders as necessary.
    • Conduct risk assessments, site walkovers, and oversee survey works, including CCTV inspections.
    • Provide guidance and advice to clients.
    • Manage time and budgets with guidance from line managers.
    Skills and Experience:
    • Familiarity with drainage policy and guidance.
    • Hold a relevant degree in Engineering or a related field, with aspirations to achieve chartership (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, etc.).
    • Proficient in drainage design software such as Microdrainage, Causeway, and CAD.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and authorities.
    Desirable Qualification:
    • Valid driving license.
