Salary Range:
£25,000 - £30,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
(MUST HAVE BUILDING MERCHANTS OR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE)
Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team in East London.
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse facility.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist in receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods accurately and in a timely manner.
This is a full-time position with regular working hours from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.Key Responsibilities:
- Order Processing: Receive, process, and fulfil incoming customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Picking and Packing: Pick products from designated locations, pack them securely, and prepare them for dispatch.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks.
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods from delivery vehicles and internal systems.
- Quality Control: Inspect products for defects and damages, report any issues, and ensure only highquality items are dispatched to customers.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Warehouse Organisation: Maintain a neat and organised warehouse by arranging products and optimising space utilisation.
- Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner. Training will be given
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to achieve collective goals and maintain a positive working atmosphere.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative or similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and inventory management.
- Basic computer skills to work with warehouse management systems and inventory databases.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands in a fastpaced warehouse setting.
