    Job Title: Project Engineer – Natural Gas Pipeline Return to Service, new CO2 & H2 Pipelines

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer to facilitate the return to service of a buried natural gas pipeline and installation of new pipelines for CO2 & hydrogen transmission, being undertaken by a customer on our clients controlled land.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Project Planning and Management:


    • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, milestones, and resources required for the natural gas return to service and new CO & H2 pipelines.


    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, operations, regulatory affairs, and environmental compliance to ensure alignment and smooth execution of the facilitation project.


    • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery within budget.

    2. Technical Expertise:


    • Collaborate with customer & internal engineering teams to design and implement modifications to pipeline infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.


    • Ensure customer undertakes risk assessments and develops contingency plans to address potential hazards associated with the use of CO2 & hydrogen in pipelines.

    3. Regulatory Compliance:


    • Stay abreast of relevant regulations and standards pertaining to gas pipeline operations, CO2 and hydrogen transmission.


    • Interface with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for pipeline modifications, CO2 and hydrogen transportation.

    4. Stakeholder Engagement:


    • Serve as the deputy on behalf of the Project Manager as point of contact for stakeholders including government agencies, community representatives, and industry partners.


    • Communicate project objectives, progress, and potential impacts to stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and written correspondence.


    • Address stakeholder concerns and solicit feedback to foster positive relationships and promote transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

    5. Quality Assurance and Safety:


    • Ensure customer implements a quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and integrity of pipeline infrastructure.


    • Ensure customer develops and enforces safety protocols to minimize risks associated with pipeline construction, operation, and maintenance.


    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.

    Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.


    • Professional engineering license (PE) is desirable.


    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry with a focus on pipeline operations and integrity management.


    • Strong knowledge of pipeline design, construction, and maintenance principles.


    • Familiarity with regulations and standards governing gas pipeline operations, such as TD/1, BS8010 & ASME B31.8


    • Experience with cross country Major Accident High Hazard (MAPD) pipelines, including high pressure natural gas and hydrogen-related technologies and safety considerations is advantageous.


    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders at all levels.


    • Proven track record of project management, including planning, execution, and risk management.


    • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in engineering practices.

    This is an initial 6 month contract (Outside IR35), with the project set to run until 2026. There is a number of additional projects which are upcoming at this site also.
