- Drafting of system interconnect drawings using data provided by project engineers.
- Support the design of 3D mechanical parts and creation of 2D drawings of those parts.
- Support the creation of Bills-of-Materials for mechanical parts and cabling in simulator systems.
- Interface with Spirent's Operations and Purchasing departments and external suppliers to assist with co-ordination of product builds and supply of materials.
- Work closely with Spirent's hardware development team.
- Produce clear documentation where required.
- Attend an approved BTEC/Diploma course for one day per week.
- 5 GCSEs minimum grade C including Maths and English or equivalent. General
- Excellent interpersonal communication including willingness to ask for help when needed and ability to work with other departments.
- Team player with ability and desire to learn.
- Resourceful and adaptive to new situations.
- Determination to see tasks through to conclusion.
- A genuine interest in mechanical design and, ideally electronics and PCB design, demonstratable by extracurricular activities.
- An innovative approach to creating solutions for electro-mechanical designs.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, e.g. CNC machining, sheet-metal, casting & moulding. Technical Experience
- Understanding of the basics of engineering mechanical design.
- Knowledge or experience in the use of CAD design tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks would be an advantage.
