    The CORNERSTONE team provide a Silicon Photonics fabrication service to researchers from across the globe, centred around unique cleanroom capabilities in Southampton, UK ). You will play a fundamental role in the success of the cutting-edge research that CORNERSTONE supports.

    In the role of Research Technician you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a number of tools housed within the University of Southampton laboratories. These tools will be used to characterise state-of-the-art Silicon Photonics devices for CORNERSTONE users, as well as internal research and enterprise projects. You will be able to learn from some of the best researchers in the field and will gain valuable, transferable skills within the field of photonics device test and characterisation at both chip and wafer scale. You will be provided with full training in addition to the opportunity to attend seminars and conferences to deepen your knowledge.

    Experience in a laboratory environment, with proven experience of successfully planning and progressing work activities is essential. A degree in a science related subject or equivalent industry experience is required. Basic knowledge in Silicon Photonics device characterisation is desirable.

    £34,980 to £42,978 per annum
