    Responsibilities:

  • Second line of defence Market Risk Monitoring.
  • Monitor the firm's residual market risk exposures and investigate, escalate, report on and challenge limit breaches and market risk appetite KRI breaches in a timely manner.
  • Perform market risk stress testing; produce daily and monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis regarding actual and potential market risk losses.
  • Analyse historical exposures to inform market risk appetite, KRIs and policy control enhancements.
  • Challenge 1LoD policies, systems and procedures with regards to market risk management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with 1LoD and assist with RCSA process for dealing to identify and act upon control gaps.
  • Work with technology and dealing teams to ensure market risk related projects are suitably planned and prioritised.
  • Keep informed on regulatory change and assess the impact on market risk profile and regulatory requirements.
  • Take part in other ad hoc risk related project work as required.
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a 1st or 2nd line role in financial services with a focus on dealing or market risk.
  • University Degree ideally in Risk Management, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Understanding and practical experience of market risk management techniques and controls.
  • Relevant professional certifications or study towards such ( FRM, PRM, CFA) advantageous.
  • Interest in financial trading a must, knowledge of CFD and spread bet product advantageous.
  • Knowledge of market risk capital requirement calculations a plus.
  • Technical coding skills/programming language knowledge (SQL/Python/C++) advantageous.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong report writing skills and experience of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and presentation skills.
