    About the role

    Benefact Group, are seeking a highly experienced Product Owner to join us as we embark on a critical technology programme to replace the existing platform for our General Insurance business. The new ecosystem consists of multiple platforms with each platform aligned to its own dedicated delivery team.

    Fully empowered, the Product Owner in partnership with dedicated Business Analysts, supported by Subject Matter Experts on the 'Client Side' and with Scrum Master support to lean on will take responsibility for the delivery of the Digital Front End platform.

    Working with a newly formed and enthusiastic team currently in the process of transitioning from Kanban to Scrum; the new Product Owner joins us at an exciting time. With a passion for Agility, courage to challenge the status quo, humility and a love of teamwork and empowerment... the Product Owner will be instrumental in helping to create a strong and high performing product delivery Scrum Team.

    Key responsibilities

    • Delivery of the Programme Vision and Objectives leveraging the Scrum Framework (plus supporting best practice) through a sustainable, predictable, and high-quality delivery engine.
    • Creation, prioritisation, and maintenance of a healthy Product Backlog
    • Strong partnership, involvement and immersion with the Scrum Team culminating in the production and accountability for well defined, well understood, high quality, unambiguous and consistent User Stories as the transactional basis for delivery of output value from the Team
    • Awareness and demonstrable ability to use best practice / effective techniques and processes from both inside and outside of the Scrum Framework to maximise performance, sustainability, forecast predictability and enjoyment (Burnout Prevention)
    • Represent and balance the needs of the customer and key stakeholders - collaborating, facilitating and driving decisions and agreement to support the product roadmap, vision, and product backlog
    • Promote, advertise, communicate, engage with Business Stakeholders and Customers the value delivered by the Team: - helping to improve and maintain the profile of the delivery team/s, effectiveness of the Agile Framework and stakeholder Buy-In and Confidence across the Group
    • Work with the Scrum Team to agree what and when to release features, as well as utilise feedback to enable the right final decision to be reached on the release plan.
    • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
    • Through effective collaboration, help to define and deliver improvements in delivery of product to maximise the value from the teams and the product
    • Coach / mentor existing Agile Business Analysts in the Delivery Team on Product Ownership


    Knowledge, skills and experience

    • Proven experience as a Product Owner including digital front-end platforms
    • Insurance Industry knowledge (can be via a different role)
    • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
    • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders

    Preferential

    • Certified Product Owner
    • 'Supplier side' product ownership
    • Proficiency with the Atlassian Suite of products, Jira, Confluence
    • Coaching experience
