    The Lead Process Safety Engineer will be primarily responsible for delivery of the Process Safety Improvement Plan. The plan includes key regulatory requirements of maintaining and submitting the Offshore Safety Case and Onshore COMAH report to the Competent Authority when the appropriate revisions are required by the business.

    The Lead Process Safety Engineer will develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in the business, including Technical Authorities, Onshore/Offshore Management and Operational teams, project teams as well as the Senior Leadership team. The Lead Process Safety Engineer will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to lead through influencing others.

    Accountabilities

  • Management of the Offshore Safety Case and Onshore COMAH report and ensuring that material changes are submitted to the Competent Authority in line with the business needs. Should manage external studies as and when required to support the reports.
  • Delivery of elements of the Process Safety Improvement plan as agreed with the HSES & Technical Director.
  • Support of site personnel with the development and ongoing management of Operational Risk Assessments.
  • Management of the CSL Management of Change system.
  • Support the Process Engineering studies of HAZID, HAZOP, SIL where appropriate and to support the thorough reviews of the relevant regulatory safety cases and COMAH reports.
  • Provide the key point of contact for Technical Authorities and site operational teams for Process safety matters.
  • Delivery of Process safety training to site operational teams.
  • Manage a small team of process safety professionals
  • Experience

  • Previous experience of working in major accident hazard industries.
  • Knowledge of key regulatory requirements and best practices for major accident hazard sites (onshore and offshore).
  • Chartered Member or working towards membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Valid Offshore Medical.
  • Offshore BOSIET.
