    Salary: Up to £45,000

    Bonus: Up to 20%

    Working Pattern: 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home

    The role:

    We are looking for an ambitious and highly capable individual to join our team as a Commercial Analyst. Working hand-in-hand with Sales and marketing, the core purpose of the role will be to help define and support the delivery of our commercial strategy for our SME customers.

    Working in a team of three, this role is working with B2B SME customers across all commercial and public sectors.

    Supported by the SME leadership team to build and maintain strong relationships across the whole business, the successful candidate will also benefit from a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

    With coaching, support and an excellent support network it would be a great fit for an experienced analyst or commercial lead looking to accelerate their influence on the performance and growth of an ambitious and successful organisation.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Analyse and understand our customer portfolio; developing a deep understanding of the behaviour of these customers to improve the balance of value and risk
    • Propose and develop a strategy of what products to sell to which customers at what time and at what price to best satisfy customer needs and attract target customers
    • Work with sales, marketing & operational teams to manage and deliver on recommendations, for example launch of specific sales campaigns or risk-mitigation activities
    • Lead high profile stand-alone projects, for example setting of pricing for certain market segments or optimising flexibility in contracts
    • Helping the business to adopt a data-led approach to decision making

    Requirements and skills:

    Required:

    • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, underpinned by technical competency (strong proficiency in Excel a minimum)
    • Commercial acumen; an understanding of how we can forecast and generate value and reduce risk and ability to quantify this and consolidate into clear recommendations
    • Excellent communicator, comfortable explaining complicated principles to a broad range of stakeholders and adapting system and approach to suit
    • A team player that recognises the importance of both collaboration and challenge in getting to the right result
    • Ability to own concurrent workstreams and prioritise effectively
    • Comfortable working within ambiguity and using collective knowledge of the business to make decisions efficiently, effectively and be able to measure the impact of them

    Good to have:

    • Experience in an analytical or commercially orientated role within the retail energy market
    • Advanced-to-expert level data interrogation, manipulation and presentation skills (e.g. use of SQL / Power Query / Power BI)
    • Ambition to develop a successful career in a high-performing commercial-centric environment
