Description
We are looking for an experienced social work manager to lead the complex safeguarding team.


The role will involve the direct line management of staff within the complex safeguarding team but will also require the post holder to support the Head of Service in the development of the integration of this service with arrangements in relation to childrenwho go missing.


The successful applicant will need to have a firm understanding of working with adolescents, effective engagement and how to bring partners on board.


The applicant will work alongside colleagues in Greater Manchester Police, advocating for young people and ensuring that information is shared in a timely way and safeguarding concerns are adequately addressed.


The post holder will be expected to further develop the service and work to improve outcomes for children at risk of or involved with exploitation and those who go missing.


The applicant will be responsible for the direct line management of a small team of 3 x social workers, 2 x support workers and a business support clerk.

They will be expected to attend a range of meetings at both a local and Greater Manchester level. They will report directly to the Head of Adolescent Services.

The post is located at Ashton Police Station and the successful applicant will be expected to base themselves there os a regular basis

Hybrid working - at least 3 days required in office
