About the opportunity:
We are looking for a Finance Administrator to join our growing Everton in the Community team.


As Finance Administrator, you will contribute to the effective running of Everton in the Community by providing excellent financial administration support, carrying out day to day financial and operational administration duties as required, under the direction of the Finance Manager and Director of Finance, Governance & Assets (DFGA) at EitC.


You will take responsibility for defined tasks as directed and assist when required on various ad hoc projects whilst always adhering to the 'Nil Satis' philosophy.


Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Finance_To carry out the daytoday financial administration of the Charity including recording transactions accurately using Xero, dealing with all aspects of purchase orders and invoices, sales invoices, monthly bank reconciliation (including reconciliation of credit and Caxton cards and lotteries bank accounts), processing journals (including hospitality recharges, stock journals and internal transfers), reconciling PDQ payments, reconciling fundraising stream income, and allocating credit notes.
  • To administer and control all Petty Cash type requests and Caxton requests, to include cash advances, and ensure such entries are accurately recorded and correct receipts are provided at time of claim.
  • To chase outstanding debtors (weekly) to ensure the Charity is reimbursed within proper timescales, issuing statements on a monthly basis and chase letters, where required.
  • To play a key role in any financial audits that take place, ensuring support is provided to the Finance Manager, DFGA, auditor(s), and other staff, as required.
  • Business Administration_General office / financial administrative support for Everton in the Community but not limited to photocopying, filing, word processing, franking of mail and collection and distribution of Finance related post.
To assist, when required with the arrangements for receiving visitors, telephone calls, mail, and enquiries of a finance nature. To ensure that an efficient, professional, approachable, and welcoming service is provided.- Safeguarding_- To understand the Club's Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communications skills including the ability to relate well to people on all levels.


Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:
Willingness to experience and manage change. Possess integrity and can inspire commitment, enthusiasm and confidence from staff, participants, and the wider community. Good listener, approachable, caring and has a good sense of humour. Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. Ability to enter data onto a computer system (Xero) in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to anticipate and prioritise a diverse workload.
Knowledge of accounting systems and processes 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C (or equivalent), including English and Maths. Willingness to undertake Level 2 or Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week.

The location is based on-site within our Everton in the Community Campus, Liverpool, L4
