    TEMPORARY
    Description

    Providing a high quality, value for money, customer focused on-site cleaning service. Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective service delivery, share knowledge and keep working within service practices.

    The current work opportunities will be based within either schools or educational establishments.

    These opportunities provide workers with flexibility both around the school operating times and also school holidays. Although working times might vary slightly at some schools, typically, cleaners will work a minimum of 10 hours per week Monday to Friday for 38 weeks of the year when the school is open.

    Morning shifts generally operate between 6:00am – 8.00am, with afternoon shifts between 3:15pm – 6:15pm.

    Successful, applicants will be appointed to a fixed number of hours and shifts per week Monday to Friday.

    However, for those who might want to work more hours, there are some opportunities to work both mornings and afternoons although these are likely to be at different school locations. Additionally, there may be some opportunities to work for the Council's School Catering Service during the day at some schools.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To ensure that all cleaning undertaken is to the required standard.
    • To work at all times within the Health and Safety requirements and be aware of the necessary fire and evacuation procedures.
    • To work safely and responsibly when using chemicals and be aware of and follow COSHH Regulations.
    • To work at other locations within the city area as reasonably requested.
    • To ensure that all cleaning equipment and materials are safely stored at the end of the cleaning shift.
    • To undertake training as necessary.
    • To act in a courteous and professional manner to all those with whom you have contact.
    • To ensure that all problems or concerns are communicated through the Chargehand or Site Supervisor.
    • Understand and implement instructions.
