About the role
We're seeking an experienced

Subject Chair in Healthcare Science to join our Assessment Design Team.

The Subject Chair has overall accountability to produce valid, reliable assessments within our Level 3 T Level qualification.


You'll work closely with the Lead Assessment Production Officer and the Assessment Production team to ensure our live externally set assessments meet the needs of customers, while adhering to relevant technical guidance and regulatory conditions.


The Subject Chair also works with the Assessment Design department to set the blueprint for our assessments and ensure that NCFE's assessment strategy and technical design documents for our assessments remain valid throughout the life of a qualification.


We would love to hear from you if you hold the following key skills:

  • Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience, in relevant qualifications and specialisms relating to the role
  • Experience of writing and/or reviewing assessment papers and mark schemes for qualifications in the Health and Science industry
  • Experience of working within a related role, such as teaching, assessment design or production or examining of related qualifications
  • Experience of effectively leading a team
  • An understanding of assessment principles (validity, reliability, manageability)
- excellent attention to detail, ability to work accurately and consistently

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines

This role will be Remote/Hybrid working with occasional requirement to visit our Head Office.
