Description

As per GMC and NHS England guidance, all doctors are required to participate in annual medical appraisals and 5 yearly revalidation.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, team player with excellent communication skills. The post-holder will have experience of using computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.


The post-holder will be predominantly based at Whiston Hospital but will be required to travel across sites as and when required.

To support the provision of a professional and efficient appraisal and medical revalidation process to the Trust and medical workforce.

To coordinate and process accurate and timely administration in line with standard operating procedures and department key performance indicators.

In this post, you will provide professional and efficient administration support to the Trusts appraisal and medical revalidation process.

You will be required to assist with the collation of supporting information, provide reports regarding appraisal compliance and collate information for the Responsible Officer to be able to make a revalidation recommendation.

KEY DUTIES

  • To support doctors employed by the Trust to collate supporting information for appraisal and Medical Revalidation
  • To provide 1:1 training and support to the medical workforce on the use of the electronic appraisal system.
  • To liaise with appraisers and doctors to advise of the requirement for appraisals to be undertaken and the date appraisals are required
  • To work with appraisers and doctors to capture the date of appraisals and assurance appraisals have been undertaken
  • To provide advice regarding the Trusts Medical Appraisal and Revalidation and Policy and processes
  • Support the Medical Appraisal, Revalidation & Governance Lead in liaising with external organisations to obtain appraisal information for new starters and doctors who have appraisals undertaken by external organisations
  • To support the Responsible Officer, Clinical Appraisal Lead and Medical Appraisal, Revalidation and Governance Lead, in the performance assessment of appraisers
  • Support the Medical Appraisal, Revalidation & Governance Lead in collating the required information for the Responsible Officer to be able to make a revalidation recommendation
  • To support the Medical Appraisal, Revalidation and Governance Lead in collating supporting information for annual audits
  • To monitor and identify appraisal noncompliance and escalate to the Medical Appraisal, Revalidation and Governance Lead as required
  • Contribute to the achievement of the HR Directorate and Trust Corporate Objectives.
  • Seek customer service feedback and make recommendations for further improvements to the Human Resources Team
  • Assist with the development of processes and policies
  • Refer complex queries to the Medical Appraisal, Revalidation and Governance Lead as required

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support with the data input on to the Trusts central electronic systems, ensuring data quality at all times and security of information in line with Records Management, Information Governance, Caldicott, Confidentiality and Data Protection policies
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR Department and Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Process
  • Work in partnership with HR colleagues to optimise opportunities for working collaboratively
  • Work in partnership with the HR department to plan and prioritise own workload. Proactively highlight peaks in work to Medical Appraisal, Revalidation & Governance Lead
