Overview of the role
In the framework of our projects in France and UK, and in tight contact with the Design teams, we are looking for a Nuclear Safety Analyst, more specifically in the field of Reactor Safety studies.
As a Safety Analyst, you will be responsible for the execution of technical studies, the followup of externalized activities, the reporting of costs and schedules.
Main duties/role and responsibilities Interpreting the regulatory and pararegulatory context, to develop a fully consistent newcleo safety referential Analysing the safety risks of the future newcleo installations, considering equipment failures as well as internal and external hazards Realizing studies in support of the radiological and environmental impact assessment Defining the orientations and safety requirements for such complex installations Editing the safety documentation for the different licensing phases, and providing and active support to the assessment phases, interacting with Nuclear Safety Authorities
Attributes/Experience Required
Education:
MSc degree, or an equivalent level of experience in a relevant domainLanguages:
- English (required): Proficiency in both written and spoken English is a mandatory requirement for this role. Clear and effective communication in English is essential for daytoday responsibilities, team collaboration, and interactions with stakeholders across the organization.
- Italian and French (Desirable): While not mandatory, a basic to intermediate level of proficiency in Italian and French is desirable for this position. The ability to communicate in Italian and French can be advantageous, as it will facilitate effective liaison and collaboration with our French and Italian teams.
Experience / Professional requirements:
Strong interest in nuclear engineering, in particular in the development of the fourth generation of reactor technologies A previous experience of at least 5 years in the design or in safety studies (accidental transients) in the nuclear field. This role requires the specific knowledge of the design challenges of a nuclear power plant, to have a good understanding of the safety issues An operational experience in a nuclear installation is a plus Knowledge of simulation codes used for deterministic and probabilistic safety analysis (thermal hydraulics, neutronics, severe accident, PSA, ) is a plus
Location:
- This role can be based in our Manchester or Gloucester offices, with a minimum of 3 days a week attendance in the office.
