his role is working with a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. You'll be working as a Yard Operative at their Birmingham, Stechford branch.

Full workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided.


What will I be doing?
As a Yard Operative, you will have one of the most important roles within the branch network.

You will be the first and last point of contact for customers visiting the branch, playing a significant part in delivering an exceptional customer experience.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming customers to the branch and taking an active interest in their projects.
  • Developing knowledge of the product lines to offer advice and assistance to customers in line with company values.
  • Assisting in preparing customer orders, loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles using a Fork Lift Truck to minimize manual handling (training provided).
  • Checking incoming deliveries and reporting any missing or damaged products.
  • Maintaining stock levels in both the shop and yard areas through regular stock counts.
  • Keeping the branch clean and tidy to create a positive impression on customers.
  • Using inhouse systems to process customer orders and support the branch team as needed.
