    Trainer / Assessor

    Location: Gainsborough

    Salary: 30,000. - £35,000 per annum

    Originally established in 1976, our client is a specialist trade body that has played a pivotal role in the development of the road marking industry. Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, they have a membership that spans the UK, Europe and beyond.

    The Association have earned strong reputation for training, standards, and safe systems of work. It is their aim to promote their industry as a key component of a safe and effective highways network.

    The Role

    You will deliver front-line road marking related training and assessment including:

    • Road Safety Marking Specialist Applied-skills Programme (SAP).
    • Manage and deliver the operative refresher training programme (ORAS).
    • Be able to travel around the UK in support of members training and assessment needs.
    • Road safety marking related NVQ's.
    • Road marking related general training courses.
    • Help innovate and promote training and assessment delivery.

    You will be able to work in-line with awarding body requirements and schedules for completion, including on-site training and assessments.

    The Association will provide training and mentorship to enable you gain training and assessor qualifications so you can pass on your knowledge, existing and new, helping to ensure a qualified and sustainable workforce for the road marking industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work with colleagues to support the associations member organisations.
    • Train and assess SAP Trainees at the Gainsborough training centre.
    • Deliver training and assessments to support a fully competent and skilled sector workforce.
    • Liaise with the Training Co-ordinator to manage your site visits and travel schedules.
    • Conduct training, reviews, and assessment visits with all Trainees.
    • Assess NVQ Candidates in accordance with prevailing qualification standards.
    • Ensure the required documents and tools are used to record Trainee progress and competence.
    • Ensure Trainee files and learning plans are of a high standard and updated regularly.
    • Manage Trainee portfolios, ensuring fitting and timely uploads to allow internal verification.
    • Deliver other training courses as required, at the office or clients' site.
    • Develop own portfolio of accreditations, with the associations support, to ensure quality of delivery.
    • Maintain and develop own professional capability to support organisational growth.
    • Support the overall aim of the organisation, taking on role relevant activities if or when required.

    Skills and Experience

    They are looking for a patient and flexible individual who is willing to learn under their mentorship and achieve the necessary experience, and where required qualifications, to deliver training and assessment to a high standard as expected by the RSMA and its UK wide membership.

    You will be based at the Gainsborough office, but when qualified some hybrid working arrangements will be available. Part of the role will involve travelling throughout the UK at various times of the year.

    Essential

    • UK driving licence category B, or greater.
    • Be able to drive yourself to member sites, delivering training and assessments.
    • Wiling to continuously develop as a professional working for a Trade Association.
    • Comfortable presenter with the ability to engage an audience of varying learning requirements.

    Desirable

    • Practical experience in setting out and applying road markings.
    • Practical experience in the setting out and application of road markings.
    • Knowledge of the key standards that drive the road marking sector.
