Description
1.

To assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager as directed and to take charge of the Home for the duration of the shift as required.


  • To provide well planned, good quality of care for residents throughout their stay in the home, which will meet their needs effectively and is sensitive to their wishes and feelings?
  • To enable all residents to have the opportunity to enjoy as good a quality of life as possible and to help maintain a happy atmosphere in the home.
  • To contribute to good communication and team work.
  • To act as key worker for designated residents.
  • To monitor the needs and condition of residents, to undertake reviews and to update care plans appropriately
  • Work with other services and appropriate people for the benefit of the residents and the quality of service provided by the home.
  • To compile and keep good quality records and to report incidents to Management.
  • To carry out the all procedures effectively
  • To work with other services and appropriate people, including families for the benefit of residents and the quality of service provided by the home.
  • To help with the organisation of social activities, and to participate in them to help promote residents' physical and mental well-being.
  • To escort residents on outings, visits and appointments where required.
  • To assist in the dining room, help with the setting up of the dining room / meal trays in readiness for meal-times and clearing up afterwards, assisting residents with eating and drinking
  • To prepare light meals and snacks or to assist residents to do this if required, liaising with kitchen staff as necessary.
  • To help maintain good standards of cleanliness, safety and comfort including the making and changing of beds and assisting with light domestic duties such as tidying rooms and emptying commodes as required.
  • To administer, record, control and store medications as per Company Policy and CQC regulations, following the Royal Pharmaceutical Guidelines.
  • To monitor the performance of Care Assistants, ensuring that all tasks are satisfactorily completed and to conduct supervision and appraisal interviews at intervals identified in Company Procedure.
  • To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Safety and Health & Safety Regulations. To report all accidents to Management Staff.
  • To read and write reports, and to participate in staff and residents' meetings as appropriate.
  • To participate in training sessions as directed by the Registered Manager and to take responsibility for self development.
  • To undertake other duties, as necessary.

Salary:
Up to £12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 38.5 per week

- providing care: 2 years (preferred)

- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred)
