Horticulture Development Officer - 2 years FTC
Location:
Remote, Wales
£27,000 per annum
Job Goal:
To develop and deliver the Welsh Government's Tyfu Cymru program against targets, within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in allocating training budgets
- Plan and develop training delivery and horticulture networks
- Recruit and engage horticulture businesses across Wales, linking with appropriate training providers
- Present the project to businesses and grower groups and events
- Implement project policies and strategies, suggesting improvements
- Develop the capacity of training providers through quality monitoring
- Measure delivery impact against targets and compile progress and data reports
- Lead on procurement and recruiting contracted specialists
- Manage the website and produce a communications plan
- Manage subcontractors as part of the training delivery program
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong people, team working, and commitment skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management and planning skills
- Experience in budget management
- Knowledge of key stakeholders within Wales
- Computer literate and proficient in office software solutions
- Knowledge of the horticulture sector in Wales
- Ability to be flexible and adapt within a fastpaced, small team
