Horticulture Development Officer - 2 years FTC

Location:
Remote, Wales


£27,000 per annum

Job Goal:

To develop and deliver the Welsh Government's Tyfu Cymru program against targets, within budget.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the Project Manager in allocating training budgets
  • Plan and develop training delivery and horticulture networks
  • Recruit and engage horticulture businesses across Wales, linking with appropriate training providers
  • Present the project to businesses and grower groups and events
  • Implement project policies and strategies, suggesting improvements
  • Develop the capacity of training providers through quality monitoring
  • Measure delivery impact against targets and compile progress and data reports
  • Lead on procurement and recruiting contracted specialists
  • Manage the website and produce a communications plan
  • Manage subcontractors as part of the training delivery program

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Strong people, team working, and commitment skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Experience in budget management
  • Knowledge of key stakeholders within Wales
  • Computer literate and proficient in office software solutions
  • Knowledge of the horticulture sector in Wales
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt within a fastpaced, small team
