    The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) is the youngest national museum.

    It tells the story of the four fighting forces of the British Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the Fleet Air Arm, the Submarine Service and the Surface Fleet.


    Based across five geographical locations:

    Portsmouth and Gosport both in Hampshire, Yeovilton in Somerset, Hartlepool in County Durham and Belfast in Northern Ireland with hands-on activities, captivating exhibitions, and knowledgeable guides ready to share their passion for maritime history, the Museum offers an unforgettable experience.

    The organisation care of the world's most iconic ships, including HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. Along with the Mary Rose Trust, the NMRN also manages the ticketing operation at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.


    The Trustees are seeking candidates for the role of CEO, the post-holder will need to be a visionary and inspiring strategic leader with strong operational and commercial experience, who will promote and develop a strategy that significantly raises the distinctive profile of the Museum to ensure its continuing relevance and sustainability.

    Candidates will be a compelling ambassador and spokesperson, representing the Museum nationally and internationally, building partnerships, creating opportunities and capitalising on beneficial relationships with cultural, educational and maritime organisations.
