Field Engineer Team Leader (South)

Contract Type:
Permanent, Part Time, Full Time, Condensed available


We have a fantastic opportunity in our Motor Engineering team as a Team Leader for our Southern based field engineers.

You will be responsible for all aspects of customer service and indemnity spend within your team. You will also be responsible for the monitoringof your team using department measures data to improve performance. Also ensuring that company processes and compliance are adhered to.

Reporting into the Senior Operations Leader, you will carry out performance reviews, be responsible for ensuring suitabledevelopment plans are in place.

You will monitor adherence to the complaints process and carry out root cause analysis with a view to improving customer journey.


Main Responsibilities as a Team Leader
To lead a team by example, motivate and develop. To be responsible for ongoing training, coaching and development.
To carry out data driven development/performance discussions as well as annual and half-yearly performance reviews.
Demonstrate a good understanding of complex claims strategies and tactics and ensuring this commercially astute approach is embedded and reinforced within their team

To provide assurance that company processes and compliance are followed including FCA, TCF, GDPR & consumer credit action and all other regulatory requirement.

To ensure that fraud is identified and investigated appropriately using all available investigation techniques.

To identify opportunities for the overall department to improve processes that could benefit our customers, teams or reduce indemnity spend.

To carry out monthly quality audits for the purpose of individual assessment and regulatory requirements.


Skills and experience you need:

Strong leadership skills and experience.
Able to use initiative and make business decisions when under pressure.
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, problem solving and team building skills with the ability to motivate staff to achieve team performance.
Ability to plan and prioritise effectively & Strong verbal and written skills.

Able to effectively manage complaints and construct complex letters to achieve the best results for the customer and the company.

Extensive knowledge of motor vehicles, modern repair techniques and both computerised and manual estimating.
Associate or full membership of the I.A.E.A. or working towards is desirable. Applicants who hold a current Automotive Technician Accreditation, Vehicle Damage Assessor qualification maybe considered'.
Thorough understanding of insurance principles, types of cover, limitation of liability and insurance market agreements.
Theoretical insurancel knowledge obtained by experience/success in insurance exams would also be an advantage.
Thorough understanding of claims procedures and handling skills with experiecnce at identifying and investigating fraud.
