    What is the opportunity?


    This is a fantastic opportunity be a key member of our UK Application Development Team at an exciting time supporting our UK Mortgage business colleagues deliver on a multi-million pound transformation programme. The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for managing end to end application development change from Design through to deployment of changes to the UK Mortgage Platforms.

    In this Role, you will

    • Deliver of all the end to end systems development lifecycle elements of major UK Mortgage change initiatives, taking a project from initiation through to closure, to meet defined business and technical objectives within agreed expectations, schedule, scope, cost and quality standards
    • Ensure defined governance, controls and methodologies are practised throughout the projects, working closely with the Lead / Business Project Managers to apply the appropriate project management disciplines; scope management, budget & forecasting management, planning, resourcing, RAID management, monitoring, reporting & control mechanisms.
    • Identify, maintain and mitigate Delivery issues, risks, dependencies, and mitigations for all technical delivery within assigned project/ programme.
    • Engage effectively with business collaborators, crucial to understanding requirements, expectations and priorities, being the conduit between the IT development team, the business teams, and multi-functional teams with the Change and Technology Services Areas.
    • Constantly challenge the delivery approach, to deliver better outcomes and ensure risk and control measures of solutions are efficient, especially important as the Bank moves towards a more agile delivery approach

    What will make you stand out?


    You can demonstrate high levels of technical literacy with a proven track record of effective management of software delivery projects across the whole System Development Lifecycle. You have robust budget management skills and advanced planning and organisational skills and are committed to delivering projects to schedule, cost, quality & scope.

    You are highly collaborative and have a demonstrable ability to influence your customers, senior collaborators and IT peers. You are have worked within a waterfall environment as well as experience in using agile/scrum methodologies.

    You have a good understanding of project risks, implementation of control measures and are comfortable working with outsourced partners. You have the ability to analyse application lifecycle issues, troubleshoot and overcome obstacles.

    Experience with any of the following will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role:

    • IT delivery within the heavily regulated Financial Services sector with familiarity in Mortgages preferred
    • Agile environments and using Agile methods and tools (Kanban, Scrum, JIRA etc)
    • Clarity Project Management system

    Our Engineering & Delivery area is responsible for the build, test and implementation of key systems that serve both the our internal and external customers. UK Application Development Team provides full end to end technical delivery capability, including analysis & design capability, alongside development, testing, environment management. The UK Application Development Team work very closely with the Home Buying and Ownership business in the UK, the Group Change Teams and Technology Services.

    This is a hybrid onsite role and can be done anywhere in the United Kingdom with the primary office location as Bristol. Travel will be required for in-person collaboration two times per week. #LI-HYBRID #IJ-HYBRID
