The opportunity


The Sustainable Supply Chain management team support the KBR Net Zero ambition and climate change agenda by helping suppliers to understand their environment, social and governance (ESG) performance.

A key part of this is clear and meaningful communication; ensuring our people stay connected and informed, and our customers engaged and aware of actions and solutions which drive ESG performance.


The Sustainable Supply Chain Specialist has an interesting and dynamic remit which is internal communications focused, as well as coordinating Supply Chain information and supporting the Sustainable Supply Chain Manager.


As the Sustainable Supply Chain Specialist, you'll work closely with all functions of our business to bring the Sustainable Supply Chain Charter to life.

Guided by the Sustainable Supply Chain Manager, our Sustainable Supply Chain Charter Delivery Plan, KBR Policies, and industry best practice research, you'll be responsible for creating impactful and engaging content in varying formats to raise awareness, establish supply chain networking and sharing of best practice as well as launch recognition awards and incentivisation programs.

With your ability to connect socially with our people, leaders, and the industry, you'll provide strategic advice and training to improve adoption of the Sustainable Supply Chain Policy.

You'll be responsible for the creation of dynamic and engaging materials to promote the work and communicate progress.

With such a varied role, you'll have the freedom to drive new ideas and with the support of colleagues across the businesses and your ideas grow from concept to commitments.

Who are you?


We are looking for an individual who is solution oriented and an innovative thinker who can dive into the detail while staying focused on the bigger picture.

Responsible for both planning and executing multiple projects, you'll be a natural project manager and all-rounder who equally enjoys planning and strategizing but is willing and able to roll their sleeves up and get the job done on time.

You're professional and confident in your abilities, and able to work alongside business leaders, customers, and all stakeholders.


Responsibilities include:


Establish, manage, and maintain a communication program, including the management of internal communications (memos, newsletters etc.), as well as external sustainable supply chain communication and networking activities.

Cascade and coordinate communication and data capture surveys.

Provide training in environmental, social and governance criteria relevant to KBR Sustainable Supply Chain programme (e.g. ISO 20400:2017 'Sustainable Procurement' and other ESG related information).

Coordinate supplier management events with guest speakers and executive leadership team members to raise awareness, promote sustainable supply chain charter through pod casts, regular Teams meetings, virtual training sessions and benchmarking,

Establish internal Supplier Manager Recognition awards to promote and recognise best practice.

Survey supplier managers and suppliers to evaluate areas for improvement and identify additional training needs.


Establish guidance and tools to assist supplier engagement, enabling supplies to understand the impact and consequences of non-conformance and assist Supplier Managers evaluate and interpret contract requirements.


Support in the development of sustainable contract clauses, and establish pitch book of sustainability clauses and responses to tenders to provide assistance to supplier managers embed sustainability in contract, tenders and Procurement related reports and returns.
