    Description

    An exciting opportunity to join Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge as a second in department within English. The full time vacancy comes with a 1 year temporary TLR2a (£3,214) allowance to be a second in department. Whilst this is a full time post, we would consider 0.8 FTE for the right candidate.

    This role will involve working closely with our Director of Secondary English and is key to provide support with:

  • Designing an engaging and challenging curriculum that enables all students to achieve at the highest level.
  • Ensuring all policies are followed within the department, e.g. marking and homework policy.
  • Modelling exemplary practice in terms of managing difficult behaviour from students, and establish a culture of high expectations and mutual respect between staff and students in the department.
  • Supporting with monitoring the quality of teaching and learning and planning within your department.
  • Supporting with implementing the long-term vision of the department.
