    This is an exciting opportunity for you to join and shape our dynamic and thriving Virtual School team as Assistant Head. This role may be of interest to those who work in education settings with leadership experience, those passionate about inclusion and working for the benefit of children in vulnerable situations.

    The Virtual School for looked after children has a statutory duty to ensure that Nottinghamshire's looked after children achieve the very best educational outcomes they can. This challenging and rewarding post requires facilitation of collaborative working with partners and services. In Nottinghamshire, the Virtual School forms part of 'Psychology & Inclusion Services', and the Assistant Head is responsible for promoting inclusive practice and empowering colleagues to maximise educational outcomes.

    The Virtual School has extended duties to promote the education of previously looked after children, children with a social worker and children in kinship care. This role will provide strategic oversight, reporting and accountability in relation to educational outcomes for groups of children in vulnerable situations.

    As part of the Virtual School you will be provided with extensive peer support and access to in-house CPD opportunities. You will be given regular supervision and be an active member of an evolving team.
