    Your Dream Role This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead and develop the Site Materials & Logistics teams, supporting our operations team through optimised inventories and service levels. Ensuring standard Group policies and processes are implemented and sustained, while driving continual CI initiatives. You'll be the ambassador for the Scarborough site in terms of supplier relationship management, from dealing with supply escalations to improving supplier responsiveness & reducing logistics or handling costs. Day to day activities will include:

  • To maintain Health & Safety requirements and processes within area of control
  • To champion 5S standards and ensure housekeeping is maintained within all areas of control
  • To develop skills matrices and training plans to provide flexibility within the team to cover periods of absence.
  • To provide weekly / monthly KPI's to demonstrate process control and compliance.
  • To oversee professional, robust and effective relationships with the supplier base are in place.
  • To implement Group strategies, policies and procedures throughout material planning and warehousing.
  • To embed proactive and constructive relationships across the Site functional teams.
  • To assess and manage risk to the organisation through management of part shortages and escalation process.
  • Work side by side with our procurement teams in relation to reductions in landed material costs & increased supplier flexibility.
  • To ensure material schedules/PO`s are released in a timely manner and are actioned by suppliers.
  • To ensure integrity and control in the planning and supply data (including shortage sheets/key commodities board and associated material supply meetings)
  • To understand the ERP requirements and implement and utilise the appropriate functionality within ERP/MRP systems.
  • To assist in attaining inventory targets
  • To assess and drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with business strategy resulting in improved deliverables at the highest efficiency.
  • What you will bring:

  • Demonstrable record of achievement in a similar role.
  • Experienced in material supply methodologies, including Lean principles.
  • Excellent understanding of MPS & MRP principles and systems
  • Flexible & adaptable in approach
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Able and willing to work outside core hours as necessary.
  • To be able to lead by example and motivate Team Members
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving analysis, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar role preferred.
  • Experience in change management
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to other locations when required.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline
  • Supply Chain or Logistics specific qualification – CIPS, APICS or IOSCM
  • Preferred Six Sigma Certificated
