We are looking for qualified practitioner psychologists to work within the GMMH Homeless Hub
Working according to the principles of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and trauma-informed approaches, the post holder will form part of the GMMH Homeless Hub - a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health and addictions services across a range of homeless services in Greater Manchester.
We currently have opportunities in several services, and so can discuss options for those wanting to gain experience in this area, from one day per week up to full-time.
The role has scope for working with staff to develop their psychological skills through training, reflective practice and shared formulation.
- To provide clinical supervision, training and team reflective practice and case formulation to frontline staff and management within multiagency services working in the homeless sector.
- To contribute to the service delivery and target objectives/priorities of the GMMH Homeless Hub plans, in agreement with the relevant team leaders/managers, to ensure the most efficient and effective utilization and contribution of psychological knowledge and practice.
- To deliver highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions to clients with complex, severe and longstanding mental health difficulties, which frequently involve high risk behaviour, e.g. risk of suicide and selfharm.
- Work with multidisciplinary and multiagency colleagues on shared ways of understanding and engaging individuals who have often either failed to engage with, or benefit from, other mental health services, and can be particularly hard to help who reside in hostel setting.
We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford,Trafford and the borough of Wigan, and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond.
