POST Recruitment are recruiting a Category Insights Manager to join our client, a retail marketing agency based in central Leeds.

You will be joining a new team dedicated to being a one stop shop for all category & media insight for the agency.


The Role:


The Category Insights Manager will ensure a full understanding of all media and trading activity within their category and be able to translate the data into meaningful insight and strategy for the agency.

The insights will be used to inform category strategy,category marketing campaigns and shape future supplier proposals.


Key responsibilities:

  • Specialises in a trading area, interpreting aggregated data to create compelling category/supplier strategic insight/recommendations, case studies, thought leadership pieces and one of cross category event reports, Merchant's Den/New, Strategic Brand Partnerships
  • Supports Account Managers to add context to supplier performance and adding value to supplier/category with insight and reviews
  • Attends internal/external meetings to discuss media reviews and performance of large category campaigns, in addition to providing support on one of cross category event reports, Merchant's Den/New, Strategic Brand Partnerships
  • Delivers outstanding client service, building relationships at all levels with categories and suppliers
  • Builds and owns relationships with POD lead and be a trusted advisor on insight and provide recommendations to assist plans

Your Experience:


  • Relevant industry experience, ideally within insights or category management (retailer, agency or supplier) or with project/account management/planning (23 years)
  • Ability to interpret data and manipulate it
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience with Media Data highly desirable
