- Hold a social work qualification and be registered with the relevant regulatory body and be responsible for maintaining the requirements as set out by that body to remain registered as a social worker.
- To have the relevant skills knowledge and aptitude to ensure that all vulnerable people are safeguarded from abuse and that all statutory functions, local policy, procedures are adhered to in a timely manner and case recordings are up to date.
- Be highly organised, able to work within a performance management framework, be able to produce timely, high quality work, using various forms of information technology to ensure that you are compliant with legislative requirements, statutory standards, local policy and protocols, practice directives and reflects social work frameworks.
- Be legally literate and remain up to date with emerging case law to inform practice within the relevant practice area, including upholding the principles of human rights, equalities and practicing in a culturally competent manner.
- To be able to apply social work theory, models, best practice and methods to practice with a specific focus on systemic and strengths based approaches and a good understanding of human development throughout the lifespan

AKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Children's Social Worker - Court Team. Permanent role.
About the role:
Sutton's Court Team provides a specialist service to Children within care proceedings, working closely with Courts to secure their safety and wellbeing through the means of permanency. As a social worker within the Court Team you will be responsible for a reduced caseload of children subject to proceedings who may either be looked after or living at home. Your role will include the undertaking of all tasks associated with working with Children under statutory frameworks, whilst ensuring compliance with Court direction, providing the Court with child focussed evidence and analysis in order to achieve the best outcomes.
The borough prides itself on engaging with children and young people, and this is no different in the Court team with the expectation of staff undertaking direct work with children to elicit their voice and to give age-appropriate clarity and reassurance. Court social workers will also have the opportunity to develop skills by the undertaking of a variety of assessments including viability, parenting and together and apart assessments
