We have a number of opportunities for Clinical Research Fellows to undertake agreed research and educational activities working alongside a group of clinical academics in the West of Scotland on a wide range of projects within Anaesthesia, Perioperative and Critical Care.

These posts are approximately 50% research and 50% clinical and will initially be for 12 months with the anticipated opportunity to mutually agree extension to two or three years to allow MD or PhD studies

The Academic Unit of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Perioperative Medicine exists to promote the education of undergraduate and postgraduate students in anaesthesia, intensive care and perioperative medicine, and to lead the development of new techniques to improve patient care in these areas.

These posts would be suitable for an anaesthetic, critical care, emergency or acute medicine trainee (with appropriate airway competencies) and allows protected research time to pursue an area of research interest (with or without progression to higher degree). The posts could also offer the opportunity for individuals to undertake a taught programme for example whilst working towards a qualification in medical education, medical ethics, public health, or research.

These posts are full time and fixed term for 12 months (with the potential to extend on mutual approval).
