    Harry's Rainbow is an established, and award-winning, child bereavement charity, supporting children and families in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas for over 12 years.

    Recognised for our child-centric approach to providing support for a 'brighter tomorrow' we offer groups for 0–25-year-olds with a focus on pastoral and creative tools and techniques to support coping strategies, and to help reduce loneliness for the child/young person and their family who are grieving the death of a parent or sibling.

    We are excited to be able to offer the role of 'Fundraising and Events Manager' to complete our team. We are funded by sponsors, donors, and fundraisers (both individuals and through managed events).

    Working alongside our CEO, the Fundraising & Events Manager will share the same mission as Harry's Rainbow, aiming to give bereaved children a brighter tomorrow, and align with our values of 'integrity, dedication, and compassion'.

    ResponsibilitiesThe Fundraising & Events Manager is responsible for the organisation and implementation of all fundraising events and activities, such as the annual Colour Run, Skydives, London to Brighton, Running Events and Fundraising Balls.

    You will be liaising with companies running managed events and individuals who are fundraising through their own events.

    You will ensure the charity's events are planned and run efficiently and effectively, communicating with all parties in a timely manner, ensuring all components of the event are booked and in place, risk assessments completed and all necessary health and safety checks and procedures are in place to ensure that fundraiser's can maximise income and enable them to achieve their objectives.

    You will also be attending and supporting relevant networking events to increase the charity's profile and fundraising ability and be required to increase participation in, and building relationships towards, the future development of the events fundraising programme.

    Our goal is to sustain and increase income for growth of the charity, and you will be a key role in this, taking responsibility for innovative ideas to maximise fundraising.

    QualificationsThe right candidate is a proactive person with a problem solver attitude.

    With a creative mind, they will be able to able work on their own initiative to elevate fundraising income and find new ways to raise awareness of the charity.

    With a proven history of fundraising success, the candidate will be a skilled relationship builder; enabling existing relationships to flourish and developing successful new ones.

    Having excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time is a must.

    A clear passion to help grow the charity and develop their skills, with a can do attitude to get the job done.

    Required Experience. (Preferable) Knowledge and understanding of the charity sector. Knowledge and understanding of Harry's Rainbow and what we do Previous event planning or fundraising experience. Working knowledge of a CRM system, ideally Donorfy. Demonstrative experience of successful relationship building. We are committed to safer recruitment and take safeguarding very seriously.

    Must pass an enhanced DBS check - This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

    Must complete an application form and supply 2 referees There is a 6-month probation period, by which time we expect all training to be completed, including in Safeguarding for both children and adults.
