Murphy & Sons Ltd is recruiting a General Foreman due to continued growth and have an exciting opportunity to join the water division on the United Utilities Framework at Advance Plus.

As the General Foreman you will be responsible for the management of labour and materials across a number of trades at a specific site.

What you will be doing

  • To plan and coordinate works on a small site or part of a site, ensuring work is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
  • Direct supervision of trade roles and subcontractors ensuring standards are maintained and ensuring sufficient resources are available.
  • To ensure the work is delivered in accordance with the contract design and specifications.
  • To ensure trades roles and subcontractors adhere to the highest standards of health, safety and environment ensuring compliance at all times.
  • To monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure, reporting any issues to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Review plant, labour and materials on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Liaise with Site Manager and/or Project Manager to resolve any technical issues outside of the scope of works.
  • To comply with company standards, policies, and procedures.

Who we are looking for

  • Level of technical expertise, potentially NVQ level 2/3 in a trade
  • CSCS Card
  • SMSTS qualified
  • Previous expertise of site supervision.
  • First aid qualification is desirable.
