Teacher of Biology for Maternity post in Richmond
Start date: 2nd January


Salary:
MPS, Outer London


A dedicated and dynamic teacher of secondary science is required to teach Biology to KS5 at an Outstanding secondary Girls school in the Borough of Richmond.


This post is a Maternity cover due to start straight after the October half term and Interviews/ trials will commence asap.

All members of staff are provided with laptops.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


JOB SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:

  • Either a recent graduate or an experienced teacher
  • A cheerful, enthusiastic and wellpresented person, capable of inspiring confidence in pupils and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral, written and in the use of ICT (Microsoft Office).
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team and willing to contribute to Departmental resources.
  • Calmness and efficiency and the ability to work under pressure at certain times.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development through attendance at INSET
  • Fully aware of Health & Safety issues.
  • Aware of the nature of the School and prepared to commit to its allround ethos, extracurricular activities and pastoral approach.
Desirable Criteria

  • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all members of the school community and outside agencies
  • An ability to offer skills in some part of the extracurricular programme of the school
  • Enjoy rising to the challenge inherent in a school environment
  • Willing to participate in our extensive programme of trips and exchanges during the School holidays.
  • Prepared to work hard with energy and enthusiasm
To join us and be successful in this Biology teacher role, you will need to:

  • Be available to start from Monday, 2nd January
  • Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
