    Key purpose of the role

    Preparation of teaching materials for units assigned in accordance to Istituto Marangoni methodological guidelines and indications received by the Director of Education:

    • Plan and deliver the subjects through a clear and appropriate approach towards the student, compliant with UKHE standards
    • Develop students' creativity, passion for the subject and problems solving skills through group work, field trips, and industry-supported projects
    • Ensure that students are appropriately supported and provided with timely and constructive guidance for their academic developments and pastoral care
    • Develop the students' learning progress and monitor the learning approach, student experience and developmental stages of the students
    • Preparation of teaching materials for units assigned in accordance to IM methodological guidelines and indications received by the local Director of Education
    • Assess students' progression in formative and summative assessments throughout the academic year
    • Establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with international pool of lecturers, students of different nationalities, staff and the local Director of Education

    In addition, the Senior Tutor role will undertake further academic duties such as to:

    • Contribute to the development and enhancement of designated academic provision
    • Initiate & foster engagement with relevant industries, organisations and professional bodies to develop opportunities for the School in the field
    • Engage with the academic and creative culture of the School through the development and participation in School and Company projects, lectures and events, enabling currency & innovation within the related field of study
    • Perform such course management and administrative duties as required in support of learning and teaching and individual scholarly development in complex and changing contexts

    Education and competencies

    • Minimum Bachelors Degree in a discipline relevant to the taught or equivalent from a recognized academic institution. Postgraduate Degree in relevant field would be an advantage; PGCert in Higher Education is desirable
    • At least 5 years' industry experience
    • Minimum 2 years teaching experience in the field
    • Good team player (you will be working closely with the Programme Leaders for the courses and other relevant department, namely Library, Academic and Student Services, Careers Services and Business Development)
    • Dynamic, creative and enthusiastic personality, with an interest to shape talents and to support them towards the achievement of their potentials
    • Possess excellent communication, organization and academic administration skills; good time management and punctuality
    • Academic rigour in marking and feed back to students
    • English language proficiency
    • Have experience of delivering and developing modules across the areas of Business and Management, specifically in areas of Business of Fashion and Luxury. The focus needs to be on Finance and Management Control, in order to develop the students' skills in terms of financial analysis and developing their ability to analyse various aspects of corporate finance, and management in a fashion context. The topics discussed capitalise on what the student learned in the first year, in economics and business, with a more in-depth focus on finance. Some of the topics discussed are: Fundamental Analysis of Financial statements, Investment Appraisal, Budgeting, variance analysis, cost management, and cash flow forecasting.
    • In the teaching of the second year, there is a heavy focus on financial planning and forecasting, as it is supposed to give the students the required knowledge and skills to write a business plan in their third year of study.
    • Experience of hybrid delivery of learning and teaching and of use of authentic/real-world assessment approaches
    • Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.

    In addition, the Senior Tutor role will have:

    • 7+ years HE experience,
    • HE teaching qualification/ HEA accreditation complete or underway
