    Conductor Capital, an investment manager with a focus on environmental products and energy commodities, is seeking an Investment Associate to join the environmental products team. The candidate will play a crucial role in the management and optimisation of our portfolio of carbon credits contributing towards our mission to be a supplier of solutions across global carbon markets.     As an Investment Associate, your role is vital to advance the capabilities of the environmental products team. You will bring a unique blend of entrepreneurial spirit, strong knowledge of environmental markets and expertise in data analysis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Portfolio Management: Lead in the day-to-day management of the carbon portfolio, including monitoring performance, liaising with project counterparties, analysing trends, and identifying opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
    • Research and Analysis: Interpret regulatory, policy and market developments to undertake research on carbon markets leading to identification of trading strategy and formulation of investment thesis. Analyse emerging pricing and liquidity trends in carbon markets to inform investment strategy.
    • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships across the environmental products community. Act as the point of contact for portfolio enquiries, requests, and escalations.
    • Origination: Assist in the origination of new trading opportunities by prospecting and developing relationships with developers, off-takers and other market participants.
    • Trading Strategy: Play a key role in the formulation of and execution of trading strategies across physical, futures products for voluntary and compliance carbon markets.
    • New Market Entry: Identification of markets that align with Conductor Capital's business model, and lead the implementation of market entry including the setup of operational, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
    • Risk Management: Leverage deep understanding of voluntary and compliance markets to support the assessment and management of risks associated with carbon project finance, including market volatility, regulatory changes, and project-specific risks.
    • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, management reporting and adherence to investment guidelines.

    Qualifications We Seek:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, environmental science, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental markets in a commercial role, (with a focus on ESG, Carbon, Renewables) preferred.
    • Strong understanding of carbon markets, emission reduction mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks including Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
    • Familiarity and/or experience with global and regional compliance regimes operational in California, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, China etc. and familiarity with global voluntary carbon standards.
    • Thorough technical understanding of carbon project types, respective methodologies and certification process.
    • Understanding of corporate finance, investment models (including debt, equity or a combination) and associated risk management for such investment structures.
    • Strong understanding of ongoing regulatory, market-based and policy initiatives that have a strong interplay with compliance and voluntary market development.
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market information and develop commercial strategies. Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint is a minimum requirement.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and counterparties.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
