    As the Design Manager you will work closely with the Creative Director and the wider Studio Management team. You will be responsible for the Design team including progress, strategy, mentorship and overall structure. This is the perfect role for a passionate designer looking for a hands off role and wanting to focus on the development of designers.

    Our design team is currently just over 40 people and you will be helping with developing, retaining and recruiting team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build on and improve the culture of the wider design team
    • Work closely with the Creative Director, game directors, department leads and studio management.
    • Mentoring, supporting and growing the design team
    • Coach and help grow the designers through regular catch-ups, 1-2-1's, training opportunities and more
    • Ensure new design hires have a focused onboarding experience with clear goals
    • Advocate for the design team at a higher company level to ensure the team can work sustainably.
    • Working closely with our People team to hire, develop and retain members of the Design team.
    Job requirements

    Requirements
    • Experience as a Senior/Lead Game Designer or similar role in a games industry environment
    • Released titles as a Game Designer
    • Excellent people and mentoring skills
    • Proactive attitude and ability to take ownership of own area

    Important:

    The interview process for the Design Manager role is made up of 2 stages:
    • First interview minutes) - An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with our Creative Director. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
    • Final interview (30 minutes) - A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
