Would you like to take your leadership to the next level? We are recruiting to a permanent deputy head of Speech and Language therapy in West Integrated Health Community.

We are looking for a highly motivated SLT to oversee excellence in clinical practice, to lead and inspire our team in providing the best evidence based care for the families in North West Wales.

Due to the bilingual nature of our services in West IHC, non

  • Welsh speakers will be supported to learn Welsh on commencement of the role.
The role provides the opportunity to support, shape and develop services locally including

  • Directly supporting the Head of Speech and Language Therapy in the operational and strategic management of SLT Services in West Integrated Health Community (IHC)
  • Deputising for the Head of Service at both operational and strategic levels within the Health Board and with local partners as required
  • Providing effective, competent and compassionate leadership to staff ensuring that all services are delivered to recognised national SLT and Health Care standards.
  • Working with the SLT West IHC leadership and management team to ensure robust management of performance, governance and workforce development.
  • Directly line managing and mentoring the Team Leaders within the Speech and Language Therapy leadership and management team in West IHC.
  • Monitoring and managing the Speech and Language Therapy resource across Adult and Paediatric teams within West IHC, working closely with the Team Leaders and ensuring compliance with professional and national guidance.
  • Facilitating excellent practice and ensuring the delivery of high quality, patient centred and evidence based services.
  • Driving and supporting service development.
  • Managing a clinical caseload using evidenced based practice.
  • Providing expert clinical advice within own area of speciality.
