The role will involve day to day management of the Endoscopy administrative team, and provide operational management support to the Diagnostics, Therapeutics, and Cancer Services Division.
You will be expected to lead and direct administrative staff in terms of workload, training, and troubleshooting.The Clinical Office Team Leader will act as an essential point of contact for clinical office staff and all patients waiting for an Endoscopy procedure.
We are looking for someone with good knowledge of the national 18 week and cancer targets, experience in operational management or of leading teams, ideally within the NHS, who is enthusiastic and willing to learn and has a positive approach to challenges.
You will need to have high level of organisational skills and be able to communicate with a wide range of health care professionals as well as patients and their relatives.
Direct line management of your administrative team including annual leave, appraisal, monitoring and managing sickness, capability, disciplinary and mandatory training in line with Trust policies and procedures.
Participate in the recruitment and selection and interview process for new members of administration staff as required and ensure Trust training undertaken.
Provide detailed local office orientation for clinical and administrative staff, working with Band 4s and 3s to ensure this is completed.
In liaison with the ASM, help support the coordination of the Service Plan to ensure effective use of resources based on service needs.
Deputising for the ASM during periods of leave only for appropriate/specific tasks and as agreed.
Train Endoscopy staff in all duties required including PAS use, list management and other IT solutions.
Will cross cover within the Endoscopy leadership team where needed.
Provides moral and ethical leadership to all members of staff.
Actively acts to empower staff by encouraging, enthusing, and providing relevant feedback.

Operating Procedures and Key Performance Indicators, and in line with the Trust Values, Policies and Procedures.
Support the ASM to ensure clinic capacity is maintained to prevent both diagnostic and cancer breaches and request additional lists, liaising directly with the clinicians, where necessary.
Escalate any operational or capacity issues to the ASM to ensure compliance with Trust targets and quality of patient care.
Ensure lists are not overbooked and as necessary lists are covered during times of annual leave/sickness.
Provide secretarial help for departmental/MDT meetings when necessary take minutes and distribute as appropriate.
Manage the follow up lists and follow-up waiting lists so patient's procedures are booked in a timely and appropriate manner.
Liaise directly with patients on Endoscopy queries or cancellations giving non-clinical advice only.
Liaise with GPs and staff as required for all clinic sites in relation to Endoscopy enquiries.
Work with administrative teams to improve their performance.
In particular that they have the appropriate resource, processes and training to ensure all admin tasks are completed on time.
