Description
Great opportunity to develop, and oversee the Security Operations Centre for Gamma Group. You'll manage the L2 functional and team and managing the outsource partner for L1 activity. Responsible for ensuring Gamma is defended against threat attack vectors, actors and their tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).


Key responsibilities:


  • Ensure events and incidents are managed appropriately, enabling the right response, communications and escalation paths
  • Ensuring all processes, and run books are effective and followed by the teams
  • Having accountability for the management and oversight of the Security Operations toolset eg SIEM/SOAR
  • Ensuring the L1 provider is working to the expectations of the service agreement
  • Develop threat hunting and analysis capabilities that are linked to the threats faced by the Gamma Group
  • Ensure the technical security department are easy to do business with for the rest of the Gamma Group, recognising and responding to local needs.
  • Define and report relevant security Operational Performance Indicators (OPI) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Oversee the successful management and development of all employees within the department, including the provision of suitable training and learning opportunities.

Experience and skills:


  • No formal qualifications are required but experience working in a SOC and overseeing a team is essential
  • You will need hands on experience of SIEM and SOAR technology
  • You must be comfortable with a myriad of data types delivered from various technologies including Windows, Linux, Containers and Cloud
  • You must be able to demonstrate a level of emotional intelligence that enables effective incident management for a medium/large organisation
  • You should have detailed knowledge of various frameworks eg NIST CSF and ISO2700
  • Ideally you will have worked in the Technology driven or Telecommunications based company
