Purpose of the Role

Join the Product and Concepts Team within R&D as the Engineering Operations Coordinator where you'll manage all aspects of the administration and budgeting and will be the direct interface with Directors, Heads of Department, Managers and Finance & HR.

In this vital position you will play a pivotal role in driving the day to day running of your specific business area within R&D.

Reporting into the Engineering Business Manager your main responsibilities include;

  • Evaluating the impact of new and changing vehicle project plans to the Engineering department
  • Management of Engineering department budget & forecast against targets, with the budget owners and Director
  • Capacity planning, including organisation of department headcount structure
  • Manage nontechnical operations of departmental Capital Expenditure and the Operating Cost Centre
  • Responsibility for KPI's, reporting and multilevel communications

About the Team

The base function of Engineering Product and Concepts is responsible for Vehicle Concepts, R&D finances, Innovation, Project delivery, Processes and Strategy.

This creates the opportunity for a diverse skill set and knowledge to operate within. We are an engaged team who support and learn from each other.


About you - Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge and experience of Financial Management and Business Management theory & Systems
  • Advanced level of IT literacy, specifically Excel & PowerPoint with excellent organisational skills
  • Proven selfstarter and able to work independently & unsupervised, and make informed decisions, recommendations and escalation when required
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and be able to progress, challenge and resolve issues
  • Demonstrating the ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects with fastpaced deadlines, and controlling budgets and forecasts
  • Ability to build relationships within the department and across the business
  • Strong business acumen
