    Job summary

    There is an exciting opportunity to join the Women's and Children's Clinical Management Group (CMG) as the Associate Head of Commercial Operations leading an eclectic portfolio focused on services with commercial opportunities, specially commissioned funding arrangements, and regional hosting responsibilities.

    The post holder will also be responsible for cross cutting thematic deliverables across the CMG, as delegated by the Head of Operations, including matters relating to efficiency, productivity, and governance.

    The CMG has a budget exceeding £200m, a workforce of more than 2,000 colleagues, and delivers numerous specialist and tertiary services across our six Directorates of Paediatric Medicine (Children's), Paediatric Surgery (Children's), Paediatric Critical Care (Children's), Specialist Transport (Children's), Maternity & Neonates (Women's), and Gynaecology, Genetics, and Leicester Fertility Centre (Women's).

    Main duties of the job

    In post as a senior leader within the CMG, you will be responsible for promoting the vision and values of University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL). This includes leading by example, ensuringdemonstrationof those values inleadership behaviours, and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient care.

    The overriding purpose of this role is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

    The post holder will deputise for the Head of Operations in the full range of duties and will have fully delegated decision-making responsibilities during any period of deputising.

    The post holder will be responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership to a significant collection of services as well as a wider portfolio of cross service responsibilities in support of the delivery of high quality, effective, and efficient patient care.

  • To provide robust and visible leadership as part of the CMG Leadership Team.
  • With the CMG Leadership Team, lead the delivery of the CMGs strategic direction and Integrated Business Plan for delegated areas.
  • To ensure a culture of continuous constructive challenge exists in the CMG, ensuring that progressive solutions, which consider models of best practice, are incorporatedinto service delivery plans.
  • To ensure that sickness absence for staff within specific service areas in the CMG is managed appropriately and in line with the Trusts Sickness Absence Management Policy.
  • Promote clinical information of benchmarking and audit to improve patient experience.
